Rate

Qualifying payments
You earn 20% when a referred customer pays for:
- Monthly subscription plans (Pro, Business, and upgrades)
- Plan renewals billed through FilePile
- Invoice credit packs
- Card or PayPal payments on their FilePile invoices
- Friend-code signups (same commission rules as link referrals)
What does not qualify
- Free-plan usage with no paid purchase
- Your own account, self-referrals, or blocked duplicate signups
- Customers who signed up without your link or code (and outside the 30-day referral window)
- No cash withdrawals. Credit stays on FilePile for your subscription

How do I get paid?
Commissions are added to your FilePile account credit balance. Use that credit toward your own plan, upgrades, or invoice credit packs. There is no separate cash payout.
What counts as a qualifying payment?
You earn 20% when a referred customer pays for a subscription plan, renews their plan, or buys invoice credit packs through FilePile billing. Free accounts do not generate commission until they make a paid purchase.
Is the commission really recurring?
Yes. Every time your referral pays, including monthly renewals, you receive 20% of that payment as account credit for as long as they remain a paying customer.
When is a referral linked to me?
A customer must create a new account through your personal link (or register within 30 days of visiting it). The referral is attached at signup and stays with that account.
Can I refer my own account?
No. Self-referrals are blocked. You also cannot earn commission on your own payments.
Can I change my link tag later?
Tags are permanent once activated. Choose something professional you are happy to share publicly.
What makes a tag acceptable?
Tags must be 3–20 characters, start with a letter, and use only letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores. We check each tag for appropriateness: no offensive language, impersonation, or misleading claims.

Open Affiliates under Billing & account. You will see your referral count, total credit earned, and a history of each commission.
What is the friend code?
Every affiliate gets a personal coupon code (based on your link tag). Up to five friends can use it when signing up for 50% off their first paid purchase. Each friend who successfully uses the code counts as your referral.
Can I use my own friend code?
No. Friend codes are for new customers only. We also check that signups are not duplicate accounts tied to the affiliate.
